Best Indoor Play Centres in Melbourne – 2026 Guide
Melbourne weather is famously unpredictable, and winter takes it to a whole new level. One minute it's sunny, the next it's sideways rain. That's where indoor play centres become your absolute lifesaver. We've rounded up the best ones across Melbourne so you've always got somewhere to go when the weather turns.
What We Looked For
We assessed each venue on the things that actually matter to parents:
• Cleanliness — Because we're all thinking it
• Coffee quality — Non-negotiable
• Age-appropriate areas — Separate zones for toddlers vs. bigger kids
• Parking — Because dragging three kids on public transport isn't always the vibe
• Value for money — What you get for what you pay
• That parent comfort factor — Can you actually sit down and relax?
Inner City & Inner Suburbs
Lollipop's Playland — Multiple Locations
A Melbourne institution with locations across the city. Multi-level climbing structures, ball pits, slides, and dedicated toddler zones. They've invested in café upgrades at several locations, so the coffee is genuinely good now. Most locations offer party rooms if you're also on the birthday venue hunt.
Ages: 0–12 | Price: Approximately $15–$20 per child | Top tip: Go on a weekday morning to avoid the weekend chaos
ArtVo — Docklands
Not a traditional play centre, but an immersive art gallery where kids (and you!) become part of the artwork. Think 3D trick art, optical illusions, and interactive installations. Kids absolutely love it and you'll get some brilliant photos for the gram. It's a solid 1.5–2 hour experience.
Ages: 3+ | Price: From $22 adults / $16 kids | Top tip: Book online for discounted tickets
Northern Suburbs
Inflatable World — Essendon Fields
Wall-to-wall inflatables — obstacle courses, slides, climbing walls, and bouncy castles. Kids go absolutely feral here (in a good way). There's a separate toddler area for the little ones and it's fully enclosed so you don't need to worry about runners. Socks are mandatory.
Ages: 1–17 | Price: From $14 per child for a 2-hour session | Top tip: Bring your own water bottle — they get very thirsty!
Latitude — Heidelberg West
Trampolines, rock climbing, dodgeball courts, and a ninja warrior course. This is one for the high-energy kids who need to really burn it off. There's a designated little kids' area and the parents' viewing area has decent coffee and Wi-Fi.
Ages: 3+ (mini area for under 5s) | Price: From $18 per child for a 1-hour session | Top tip: Book during off-peak hours for a less chaotic experience
South-East
Kidz Digz — Moorabbin
A gem in the south-east. Three-level play structure, separate toddler zone, and — the real hero — a parent lounge with decent food and barista coffee. The venue is exceptionally clean and the staff are lovely. One of those places where you actually feel like you can exhale for an hour.
Ages: 0–10 | Price: Approximately $12–16 per child | Top tip: Their meal deal (entry + kids' meal) is great value
Chipmunks — Dandenong
Huge multi-level play structure, dedicated baby and toddler area, and a café that's a step above the usual play centre fare. They also run disco sessions and themed events during school holidays which are always popular. Online booking recommended for weekends.
Ages: 0–11 | Price: From $13 per child | Top tip: Check their socials for school holiday specials
Western Suburbs
Crocs Indoor Playcentre — Hoppers Crossing
A massive play centre with a great reputation in Melbourne's west. Three-storey climbing structure, ball pit, giant slides, and a separate soft play area for under-3s. The café does proper meals (not just chips and nuggets) and the coffee is solid. Plenty of parking too.
Ages: 0–12 | Price: From $14 per child | Top tip: They run a loyalty card — ask at the counter
What to Pack
• Socks — Most centres require them (grip socks are ideal)
• Water bottles — Kids get dehydrated fast when they're bouncing around
• A change of clothes — Trust us on this one
• Snacks — In case the café options don't suit your fussy eater
